and Application of new technologies to protect, stabilize and improve soil
fertility aiming at effective use of land resources and fertilizers

The Institute has a staff of 165
people including 2 Professors, 10 Doctors and , 8 Masters, 87 Engineers
and 48 Technicians.
Main Achievements

Presided over fundamental surveys of
soil resources, compilation of methods for soil classification and mapping.

Research on the method of soil classification
in conformity with FAO-UNESCO and USDA soil Taxonomy.

Studies on Pedagogical processes specific
for humid and tropical soil of Vietnam to serve intensive cultivation and
sustainable land use.

Research on environment pollution and
protecting measures soil.

Research on fertilizer efficiency,
balance fertilization method and rational application for main crops.

Production, testing and transfer of
technology for new types of fertilizer.

By means of State –level programs and
International cooperation,

The Institute is a member of Vietnam
Soil Science Society and has cooperative relations with many countries
and international organizations in the field of soil, fertilizer and environment.

National Institute for Soils and
Fertilizer has cooperative relation with many countries such as Lao, Thailand,
Taiwan, china, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Australia,
Israel, India, Morocco, France, Switzerland, Sweden, Canada, United State,
Japan, England, Netherlands as well as with an International organizations
in the field of research on:

Direction of
activities for the next decade

NISF’s Direction of activities for next
decade is to forward on eco-regional approach for Natural Research Management
for sustainable agro-forestry production that is the needs for industrialization
and modernization process.

Continue surveying of soil resources
and compilation of methods for soil classification and efficiency fertilizer
mapping for various soil types on different crops different scales and
different regions. Compile suitable soil map for crops in the whole country.

Land use management of flatland as well
as upland for sustainable agriculture, aim to control effectively
nutrient for crops and consolidate organic agriculture to create sustainable
ecological agriculture system.

Research and evaluation status of soil
environment through different land use methods, and forecast potential
of soil erosion and soil pollution by different influence source.

Maintenance and widening international
relations
with NGO and GO

Capacity building for researchers in
pedological, fertilizer and environmental areas.
